OK! So something interesting caught my eye? No. It didn't catch my eye. I caught it. I watched it. If I didn't watch it, I couldn't care less about it. I explained in the earlier entries about how I got to watch it. Guess I need not explain further. I hate elaboration. I hate to repeat myself again. It's irritating. OK! Now back to the main point. Guess in this entry, all I will have to do is to review it and tell you what happened, in case you didn't watch it. Laugh out loud. I got the privilege that I got to watch it. At least I need not pay like about a $100 or so. Haha! Anyway, the musical was quite interesting and funny. With Gurmit Singh in the act (Obviously) , anything can happen. Any jokes can be formed. Any comedy can be formed. He is that kind of person. The musical was about 2 hours with a 15 minutes break time. The most irritating part of the musical is that they came up with a catering company that was named after one of the sponsors. The sponsor is Kenwood and the (Stupid) catering company was called Kenwoo. Dumb right? Haha! My personal opinion only, no insults directed at anyone. DISCLAIMER! DISCLAIMER! Haha! OK! Now back to the point about what the musical was all about. I will try and describe this musical as vividly as possible as I do not wish to tarnish its reputation and name. Haha! OK! Now to the point!
Phua Chu Kang: The Musical first starts off withChu Kang's dream. He dreamt that there were many black crows flying round him and his worst enemy, his arch rival, Frankie Foo was cursing him to die on his birthday which was the next day. Touch wood! Haha! Anyway, when he woke up, he tried to signal to everybody that tomorrow was his birthday. No one seemed to remember, even his Ah Ma and his beautiful sexy wife, Rosy. e got a bit angry and went to the coffee shop to drown his sorrows.
There was a girl at the coffee shop who was a waitress and was looking for a boyfriend and trying to show off her clothes and body. Disgusting and cheap woman! Heehee! There he met a young man who started talking to him. This man started describing that he had a long-lost brother who was a contractor who wears yellow boots and has a mole on his face. Chu Kang thought and though about it and later realised he was that brother! WOW! What a coincidence! (Sarcasm) That young man's name was Phua Chu Cock. What a name! Anyway, Chu Kang decided to bring Chu Cock home to show Chu Cock his family.
The brothers reached home and Chu Kang's Ah Ma was very furious with Chu Cock because she believed that Ah Pa had an affair with Audrey. Audrey was a village rival in love with Ah Ma. Now that there was Chu Cock, Ah Ma really thought that Ah Pa had an affair.
Chu Cock brought Chu Kang to see a fengshui master who was acted by Shiekh Haikel, that fired DJ. The fengshui master forsee that Chu Kang will find a long-lost brother, have something dropped on him and die on his 40th birthday. Chu Kang fufilled the first prediction. Someone purposely tried to throw sometihng on him and so he believed that the second prediction came true. As for the third wish, it had to wait till tomorrow.
Back at home, the whole family was planning for his birthday. Magaret assumed the position of becoming the party planner. The family was against it. In any case, she still assumed it. Employing caterers and many other companies, they were all western. A series of songs ensued.
Chu Kang went to a casino to write his will as he believed that he would definitely die on his birthday. The lawyer made him sign the will and the will was to give everything he had to Chu Cock after he died.
Chu Kang went home to tell his family the bad news and his will. They were all shocked that he was leaving everything to this shady character - his long-lost brother. They thought that he should at least have left some to his Ah Ma and Rosy.
The next day, his birthday, Frankie Foo came to his house and claimed everything. It was then Chu Kang realised that it was all a scam. His long-lost brother was a scam. The fengshui master was a scam. The lawyer was a scam. The brother and lawyer worked for Frankie Foo. The whole Phua family blamed Chu Kang for the lost of their properties.
Frankie wanted Rosy to stay behind as he loved her but she refused to. The family then forgived Chu Kang for his grave mistake. All of a sudden, Frankie had a heart attack and fainted. He was on near death when Chu Kang saved him by doing a mouth to mouth resucsitation on him. Frankie was flabbergasted and respected him. For that, he returned all their properties. Chu Kang offered the proposal of becoming friends but Frankie refused.
There you have it, the whole story of Phua Chu Kang: The Musical. Hope you like my narration, guess it's not that bad this time, is it? You judge it for yourself.
